Santa Barbara Courthouse Clock Room

The Santa Barbara Courthouse is home to a well kept Seth Thomas Tower Clock. It has been faithfully ticking the time away for the past 80+ years. It is located inside an isolated room within the observation tower at this National Historic Landmark building and is not regularly open to the general public--that will change this coming January.
The art of horology unquestionably ranks among the most wonderful of the mechanical arts. One can only marvel at the diminutive size of the modern wrist watch and the accuracy of the machines by which the duplicate parts are made. For those not familiar with the art of horology, it is the understanding of how to mark the passage of time--and more specifically the crafting of devices that measure the passage of time.
It is the vision of the Bisno-Schall Gallery to turn this little known room into a first class gallery to tell three stories-- that of horology, Santa Barbara and the courthouse itself.
This web site is initially a location for use by the project development team to easily share progress, updates and information as the project unfolds. Once complete, this site will turn its focus to information about gallery use and exhibit materials.
